Easy Homemade Granola
THIS YUMMY, CRUNCHY HOMEMADE GRANOLA CAN’T BE BEAT!
Store-bought granola can be so expensive, so this recipe is perfect for skipping that extra expense. My sister-in-law makes this granola all the time and graciously shared her recipe with me. I started making it for our family and it’s one of our go-to snacks to have throughout the week.
This is also a great thing to bring a new mom to munch on postpartum!
Ingredients:
4 C Sprouted Oats
1 C Raw Unsweetened Coconut
1/4 C Ground Flax Seed
1 - 2 C Chopped Nuts (walnuts, pecans, cashews work well)
1/4 C Butter or Coconut Oil
1/4 C Brown or Coconut Sugar
1/4 C Honey or Maple Syrup
1 tsp Salt*
2 tsp Cinnamon
1 - 2 tsp Vanilla
Add-ons after baking:
Dried Fruit such as raisins, cranberries, tart cherries
Chocolate Chips (you could add these before baking if desired)
Method:
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
Add oats, coconut, flax seed, and chopped nuts into a large bowl.
Combine oil, sugar, honey/maple syrup, salt, cinnamon, and vanilla in a small saucepan. Pour this mixture into the large bowl over the dry ingredients.
Mix all ingredients until it is well coated.
Spread the mixture out onto the lined baking sheet.
Bake for 45 minutes and gently stir it every 15 mins until golden brown.
Enjoy warm with milk of choice. Or let it cool and store it in an airtight container to enjoy later!
NOTES:
*Don't double or triple the salt.
I hope you enjoy this yummy recipe! Maybe serve it at your next brunch or make it during meal prep time for a snack throughout the week. My mouth is already watering just thinking about it!
xoxo,
Paulina
